About Him

There is this kid who runs around my neighborhood making friends with everyone. He comes over all of the time begging for John, hoping he is here. John plays xbox with him for hours and helps him with his homework, that's just the kind of guy he is. He gets excited about geeky things like mac world and R2D2 projectors with millennium falcon remotes (that's actually really cool...). He makes friends with his professors and gets "casually mentioned" over lunch during conversations between two big time hollywood names. That's just the type of guy he is. My favorite thing about him is that he's my best friend and even after everything we've been through he's still my best friend first. He runs around like an excited kid on Christmas with his camera. He can pull my computer apart and put it back together again, twice. He can cook a killer shrimp pasta and has the best taste in roller coasters. That's just the kind of guy he is.

About Her

I've never met such a stubborn, strong-headed individual before in my life. That's exactly why I love her so much. Girlfriends and dates have come to me before but I always felt like the gentleman escorting the lady out for the night, nothing long-term. Christina was different. The day I walked into her apartment and she had her computer in pieces, scattered all over the floor, I knew I had found someone I could get along with. We liked the same music (Japanese!), we liked the same art, and we enjoyed spending time with each other. Its funny that we even get along with her being a biochemistry major and me with my film thing. Sometimes it just throws me for a loop when she rattles off her equations and explains astro-physics with as much enthusiasm as she shows when I cook dinner or surprise her. She is so smart...I love that. Finally a girl I can converse with and get a response. Whether she admits it or not, she is gorgeous. I never thought it was possible to get lost in someone's eyes, guess I was wrong. She's the kind of girl that gets things done. If she knows it can be done better, faster, or cheaper she's the first to grab on and change things. She's my best friend and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

The Engagment

After a rough semester John planned a surprise vacation for the two of us to relax and recoup. I was allowed to know which days to plan to be away but that was it. After hours of driving and stealthy guessing tactics I managed to find out that we were headed to Telluride Colorado! We arrived at night and the whole town was lit up like a beautiful Christmas card. On our first day we decided to explore the town and ride the Gondola to the mountain village. Johnny casually walked over to the town directory and pointed out that there was a lookout, and that we should go take pictures. When we got there it was awe inspiring white mountains as far as you could see. We were joking around and playing in the snow and he drew a heart. He said there was something missing from it and naively i said it was because he needed to clear out the snow in the middle so it looked more like a heart, but he said there was still something missing. That's when he pulled out a little black box and put it in the center, got on his knee and said "will you marry me?" I was so excited I jumped on him hugging him and said yes!
